What is one hundredth of an hour?
One hundredth of an hour is 0.01 hour.
A normal hour contains 60 minutes, or 3,600 seconds.
So:
3,600 ÷ 100 = 36
Therefore: 0.01 hour = 36 seconds
This is an important distinction.
Hundredths of an hour do not mean that an hour has 100 normal minutes.
A standard hour still contains 60 minutes.

Payroll rounding is a separate process.

Those rules can vary.
So: minute-to-hundredths conversion and payroll rounding are not the same thing.

Hundredths and tenths are different.

This distinction is particularly important because some billing systems use tenths of an hour, while payroll or timesheet systems may display time in hundredths.
For example:

How to use the chart with whole hours
If you have whole hours and minutes, keep the whole hours and convert only the minutes.
For example:
7 hours 22 minutes
Find 22 minutes in the chart: 22 minutes = 0.37 hours
So: 7h 22m ≈ 7.37 hours
The decimal value is rounded to two decimal places.
Another example:
8 hours 30 minutes
30 minutes = 0.50 hours
So: 8h 30m = 8.50 hours
This is why normal time such as 8:30 should not be entered as 8.30 when a system expects decimal hours.
