What Are Decimal Hours?

Decimal hours are a way of expressing hours and minutes as a single decimal number.

An hour still contains 60 minutes. Decimal hours simply convert those minutes into a fraction of an hour.

For example:

  • 30 minutes = 0.50 hours
  • 45 minutes = 0.75 hours
